027 Ancient Treasures – Egyptian Temple Cat Bast with accurate Hieroglyphics, uses all the colours of Ancient Egyptian gold work and jewellery, the stunning La pis Lazuli, Turquoise and Carnelian used in the mask of Tutankhamen. This chart uses only 9 colours, actual gold thread and should be stitched on black Aida cloth or similar.
HIEROGLYPHS EXPLAINED:
The three hieroglyphs in the cartouche (basically name plate on the right) represent the three symbols of the cat Goddess Bastet, from the top down an ointment jar, the second a feminine symbol of a bread loaf, the third is the seated goddess that represents what she is.
The centre is the solar disk, the sun god Ra who is the father of Bastet and journeyed with him as he rolled the sun across the sky each day. On her chest the eye of Ra or all seeing eye (often seen on Bast sculptures). On the left is the Ankh which she is often seen holding when she is in her human form representing eternal life and fertility. The Scarab beetle a protective symbol for rebirth, the sun and good luck.
The line work will need to be single strand back stitch.

THE CHART DOCUMENTS
Most charts are split in to four equal sections (larger charts into more sections, 6 , 9 and 12 pages) and enlarged onto A4 Letter on 10×10 graph paper. To make stitching easier the first section is solid colour blocks, the second part the chart pale colour blocks with black symbols on the top (like in the magazines). The remainder of the pages are black and white symbols, simply pick the section which best suits your eyes (or your printer). The final page is the legend of the 6 strand colours showing the symbols. A separate Patternkeeper raw file is supplied with all charts which is also suitable for Stitch R-XP users.
Should you decide to buy this or any of my charts and you find a problem or you need different size, cloth size or thread manufacturer I would be more than happy to customise a chart for your needs. I am constantly updating and improving the charts over time and will keep you updated with any improvements I make.
